Katrina is the founder and attorney for Cornerstone Legal. She spent over 13 years as an executive legal assistant helping to run another solo firm in the Lansing area. After graduating from Cooley Law School and joining the State Bar of Michigan, she established Cornerstone Legal to use that wealth of knowledge and experience to serve her community.
Katrina graduated summa cum laude from Ferris State University with a BA in history and political science. During her time at Cooley Law School, Katrina served as a Teaching Assistant, Dean’s Fellow, and on the Law Review. She also devoted two terms to Cooley’s Sixty Plus Estate Planning Clinic helping provide estate planning to low-income members of the Lansing community. As a Scholarly Writing student, Katrina had the opportunity to submit an article to the Cooley Law School Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Her article titled “We’re Not Such A Developed Nation After All: A Lack of Paid Leave in the United States Reflects the Declining Societal Value Placed on Maternal Health, Parental Bonding, and Infant Development” was accepted and published in the December 2020 issue. Upon graduation from Cooley, Katrina was honored with the Alumni Association Distinguished Student Award and Student Bar Association Fitzgerald Award.
As an attorney, Katrina focuses her practice on providing quality planning services, educating her community about estate planning, and being a trusted resource for her clients and colleagues.
Katrina is also active in the community, serving as a board member with T.W.I.G.S., The Mark Advocacy Group, and the Eaton Rapids Education Foundation. She and her husband Ryan lead the Kids Kingdom ministry at the Lansing Area Church of Christ and are also very active with the board and community planning committee. Their three boys – yes three – are all active in the Eaton Rapids soccer community and they play during both the fall and spring seasons. In her free time, Katrina enjoys reading and doing puzzles, tackling creative projects with her family, and spending quality time with her girlfriends.
